LANDBANK, Batanes PG promote cash-lite economy via QR codes

LANDBANK, in partnership with the Provincial Government of Batanes, is promoting a cash-lite economy by expanding access to digital payment solutions.

Through the Cash-Lite Batanes initiative launched on March 8th, residents and businesses can now use LANDBANK's mobile and electronic payment services for secure transactions via QR codes.

The initiative aims to onboard 1,665 business establishments and over 7,400 Ivatans, including tricycle drivers, social protection program beneficiaries, students, and households, by year-end.

LANDBANK President Lynette V. Ortiz emphasized the importance of digital transformation in remote areas during the launch, coinciding with International Women's Day.

The Provincial Government has introduced ordinances to support QR PH digital payments and is deploying Wi-Fi modems to enhance Internet connectivity for businesses and transport providers.
