LA Tenorio named Magnolia Hotshots coach, replaces Victolero

Former Barangay Ginebra guard LA Tenorio has been named the new head coach of Magnolia Hotshots, replacing Chito Victolero.

San Miguel Corporation sports director Alfrancis Chua confirmed that discussions for Tenorio's appointment began a month ago after he led Gilas Pilipinas Youth to victory in the FIBA U16 Asia Cup SEABA Qualifiers and noted that Tenorio has not officially retired, leaving open the possibility of him playing again if needed.

Barangay Ginebra San Miguel resident import Justin Brownlee expressed shock at Tenorio's move to Magnolia, calling it a bittersweet feeling given their long-standing partnership on the court.

Brownlee highlighted Tenorio’s role as an unofficial coach for his players and suggested that there is even a possibility for Tenorio to become a playing-coach for Magnolia.

Tenorio's first practice session with the team is scheduled for next month ahead of the upcoming Philippine Cup which starts on October 5th.
