Kuala Lumpur wins men's 3x3 title, Maurice Lacroix wins women's title

Kuala Lumpur of Malaysia emerged as the inaugural champion in the men's division of the Pilipinas United 3x3 League on Sunday at Ayala Malls Manila Bay, defeating Half Court Group with a score of 21-15.

Half Court Group, despite falling short to Kuala Lumpur, still emerged as the top local squad of the 12-team tournament and brought home $2,500.

Kuala Lumpur's MVP Ting Chun Hong scored seven points, including the game-winning putback, securing a spot at the FIBA 3x3 Kaohsiung Challenger in October along with a cash prize of $5,000.

In the women's division, Maurice Lacroix won the championship with a narrow 15-13 victory over Uratex Dream, earning $3,000 and a spot at the FIBA 3x3 Manila Challenger; MVP Naoko Honda sealed the win with a clutch jumper at the 1:32 mark.

The league was founded by Andrew Combate and Eric Altamirano and is sanctioned by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas, featuring additional events such as the Two-Point Shootout and Dunk Contest.
