Kris Aquino makes first public appearance since autoimmune diagnosis at People Asia awards

Kris Aquino made her first public appearance since being diagnosed with autoimmune diseases at the People Asia People of the Year awards night on February 25.

She attended the event in pink and yellow attire, accompanied by son Bimby and her medical team, to support her close friend and fashion designer Michael Leyva, who was one of the awardees, coinciding with the 7th anniversary of her diagnosis and the 39th anniversary of the People Power Revolution.

Kris shared that Michael acts like a father figure to her siblings and has been there for her in many ways during her medical journey, describing him as 'like the younger brother I never had.'

She apologized for being late due to medication side effects but looked vibrant as she mingled with other attendees and members of the press, expressing gratitude towards Michael for his unwavering support.

Though Kris is still not fit to work and continues her medical journey after returning home from the US where she was receiving treatment for autoimmune conditions, she highlighted Michael's importance in her life and revealed that Bimby may need to start working soon to help cover her medical expenses.
