Kira Ellis wins Europe Triathlon Junior Women Cup

Philippine triathlete Kira Ellis won the 2025 Europe Triathlon Junior Women Cup in Riga, Latvia over the weekend.

Ellis secured first place with a time of one hour, five minutes and seven seconds, outpacing her competitors during all three legs of the race to claim victory ahead of runners-up Luca Vanderbruggen of Belgium and Sarah Walter of Germany.

The win is particularly noteworthy as Ellis returned from a shin injury earlier this month, supported by a high-performance training camp in Portugal sponsored by the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC).

Ellis's triumph marks a significant achievement for Triathlon Philippines on the international stage, with the athlete set to lead the country's delegation at the upcoming Southeast Asian Games in Thailand in December.

A gold medalist from the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games and winner of the 2024 Asia Triathlon Junior Cup, Ellis continues to solidify her position as one of the Philippines' most promising athletes for international competitions.
