Kiko Pangilinan denounces disinfo campaign

Former senator Kiko Pangilinan criticized a viral video depicting him eating rice and carabao milk from a pot cover, which he claims is part of an orchestrated disinformation campaign.

During a Facebook Live broadcast on April 12th, Pangilinan accused trolls of sabotaging his senatorial campaign through organized online attacks, noting that many reactions came from accounts with Vietnamese-sounding names.

He urged fellow candidates to focus their resources on promoting themselves and their achievements rather than spreading false information.

Pangilinan called for vigilance against disinformation during the election period.

He appealed to social media companies like Meta (Facebook) and TikTok to collaborate with Comelec to address widespread misinformation.
