Filipina KATSEYE leader Sophia amazed by group's success

KATSEYE, a global girl group that debuted just two months ago, has made significant strides, including reaching Billboard Philippines' Hot 100 chart with their single 'Touch'.

During KATSEYE's first media conference in the Philippines on Tuesday, September 17, leader and Filipina member Sophia Laforteza expressed her amazement at the group's success and emotional joy upon returning to her home country.

Sophia emphasized how grateful they are for the positive reception of 'Touch', attributing its popularity to both the song's sound and choreography, and shared that meeting her mother and eating Filipino food with her family was a highlight.

The group performed at their fan showcase titled KATSEYE: Touchdown in Manila on September 18 at Ayala Malls Market! Market! in Taguig City, where they expressed their love and gratitude to fans through social media posts.

Members praised Sophia for her leadership and supportiveness, calling her the 'mom of the group', while sharing future goals such as headlining Coachella, winning a Grammy, and performing at the MTV Video Music Awards.
