Junior, Gil arrested for store robbery, firearm possession

Two men identified as Junior, 32, and Gil, 31, were arrested by police on Thursday for robbing a convenience store in Barangay Balsik, Hermosa, Bataan on Wednesday.

The suspects were apprehended in Barangay Saguing, Dinalupihan town, where they were found with PHP8,500 cash, a pellet gun resembling a .45 caliber firearm, two helmets, a face cover, and a motorcycle used during the robbery.

Both men are charged with robbery; Junior also faces additional charges under Republic Act 10591 for illegal possession of firearms and violation of election gun ban.

Police Brig. Gen. Jean S. Fajardo, chief of Police Regional Office 3, praised the swift arrest as a testament to law enforcement's commitment to justice and community protection.

The police are investigating whether the suspects were involved in other criminal activities.
