GMA, ABS-CBN talent duet on new 'Sikat Ang Pinoy!'

GMA Network's Julie Anne San Jose and ABS-CBN's Darren Espanto will release a new version of the 'Pinoy Big Brother' theme song, 'Sikat Ang Pinoy!', on March 9.

The announcement was made during a media conference for 'Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Edition Collab', where both artists expressed their honor at being chosen to sing a modern rendition almost two decades after its original release.

Jonathan Manalo wrote the original 19-year-old song which was first performed by Toni Gonzaga and Sam Milby, and Julie Anne and Darren aim to give it a contemporary twist.

The media conference also featured upcoming hosts from GMA-7 Sparkle talents Gabbi Garcia and Mavy Legaspi along with seasoned and returning hosts Bianca Gonzalez, Alexa Ilacad, and Melai Cantiveros.

For the first time in its two decades, 'PBB' will start airing on ABS-CBN's rival network GMA starting March 9 as it welcomes talents from both Sparkle Artist Center and Star Magic to live under the same roof.
