Jay Ortega joins GMA's 'Slay', lands new contract with Sparkle

Jay Ortega, the breakout star of 'Pulang Araw,' will join GMA Network's first Viu Original series 'Slay' alongside Julie Anne San Jose, Ysabel Ortega, Mikee Quintos, Derrick Monasterio, and Gabbi Garcia.

According to Jay, his character in 'Slay' is very different from his previous roles and he has expressed excitement about the opportunity to work with talented cast members.

During a media conference for the murder-mystery series, Jay revealed that his character will get entangled with the main characters and might be involved in the death of Zach (Derrick Monasterio).

Jay's unnamed character is described as a simple guy living a simple life who becomes involved with the suspects due to his connection to one of them.

'Slay' follows four women tagged as suspects in Zach's murder, and Jay recently signed a contract with Sparkle after the success of 'Pulang Araw'.

He also appeared in an episode of 'Magpakailanman' as a gay security guard who went viral with a dancing video on social media.

Jay was also hinted to be part of the cast for another upcoming project, 'Sang'gre.'
