Isko arrests 34 parents for child quarantine violations

On Thursday, July 16, Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno arrested 34 parents whose children violated quarantine rules.

The arrests were made under the Manila Anti-Child Endangerment Act after repeated warnings from the mayor.

Parents were taken into custody from various barangays for failing to keep their children at home during lockdowns.

Mayor Moreno stated that the government would intervene to protect minors from potential coronavirus exposure.

Prior to these arrests, Mayor Moreno had warned parents of impending legal action if they allowed their minor children to violate quarantine rules.
