Isko Moreno greenlights Dimasalang Bridge rehab

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno has approved the rehabilitation of the Dimasalang Bridge, which will be carried out by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

Earlier, Moreno had halted the project due to DPWH's failure to obtain required permits from the city government.

The contractor for the repair works has now paid P504,000 in taxes as part of the clearance process.

Mayor Moreno instructed the Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau to develop a traffic management plan for the impending closure of parts of the bridge.

DPWH will perform retrofitting of piers and abutments, replace girders from concrete to steel, and redeck the entire slab.

The southbound lane of the Dimasalang Bridge will be closed while the northbound lane will accommodate two-way traffic during the repairs.
