Isko Moreno allows tricycles, pedicabs in Manila despite MECQ

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno announced Tuesday that tricycles, e-trikes, and pedicabs can operate during the city's two-week MECQ starting August 4.

The mayor said this measure is intended to help essential workers and frontliners get to work and support the local economy.

However, no financial aid will be distributed by the city government during this period.

An 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. curfew will also be enforced, along with an odd-even scheme for movement restrictions based on license plate numbers.

Moreno warned that Manila's hospitals are already at 85% capacity and urged residents to follow safety protocols.
