Iloilo's Passi placed under ECQ due to rising COVID-19 cases

Passi City in Iloilo has been placed under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) due to rising COVID-19 cases, with a total of 220 cases as of January 30.

The city recorded 166 new cases since Wednesday, mostly among market vendors and their close contacts.

Mayor Stephen Palmares announced that the source of transmission was identified as a vendor from the public market who tested positive during mass testing in October.

Passi City will remain under ECQ until February 11 with strict curfew hours from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., and residents must present quarantine passes when leaving their homes.
