Iloilo scraps negative RT-PCR test requirement for travelers

Iloilo City no longer requires incoming travelers to present a negative RT-PCR test result.

Mayor Jerry Treñas announced that the city government will provide free COVID-19 tests for travelers upon arrival due to high costs and delays in other areas like NCR.

The decision was made after discovering some travelers were resorting to fake test results.

Symptomatic patients and close contacts of COVID-19 cases can also get RT-PCR tests for free.

Iloilo City's healthcare utilization is nearing moderate risk with a 65.79% bed occupancy rate and a 61.45% ICU utilization rate.
