Iloilo City reports 2 more mpox cases, total now 6

The Iloilo City government has recorded two more confirmed cases of mpox, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to six as of June 10, 2025.

City Health Officer Dr. Mary Ann Diaz reported that all confirmed patients are stable and have fully recovered, while six suspected cases are still under laboratory confirmation.

The city continues to work closely with barangays, schools, religious groups, and other sectors to strengthen preventive measures and contain the virus spread.

Dr. Diaz urged residents to practice vigilance, seek early consultation if symptoms occur, report them accurately, and isolate promptly.

Key preventive actions include regular handwashing, wearing masks, avoiding crowded places, practicing safe sexual health, and using disinfectant as necessary.

The city is awaiting a response from the Department of Health regarding its request for confirmatory tests for suspected mpox cases.
