Yulo receives P10M bonus, other athletes get awards at ICTSI ceremony

Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo received a P10 million bonus from International Container Terminal Services Inc. (ICTSI) for his gold medals in the vault and floor exercise at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Philippine Olympic Committee president Abraham 'Bambol' Tolentino, ICTSI executive vice president Christian Martin Gonzalez, and Carlos Yulo himself expressed gratitude during a ceremony at Waterside Restobar at Solaire Resort in Pasay City.

In addition to Yulo's bonus, bronze medalists Aira Villegas and Nesthy Petecio each received P2 million, while non-medalists from the 22-athlete Team Philippines received P200,000 each.

ICTSI emphasized the importance of supporting athletes for their hard work and dedication over many years.

Yulo expressed gratitude for ICTSI's recognition of his efforts, stating that it was overwhelming and unexpected, and thanked them for their continued support up to the next Olympics and overseas competitions.

The ceremony also included other Philippine team members who participated in Paris, such as Eumir Marcial, who received P200,000 despite an early exit from the Round of 16.
