ICPO seizes 775 grams shabu worth PHP5.3M, arrests three in two ops

Two separate operations conducted by the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) on Wednesday resulted in the seizure of 775 grams of shabu with an estimated street value of PHP5.3 million and the arrest of three individuals.

The first operation, led by the City Drugs Enforcement Unit against a high-value individual known as 'Bulldog,' yielded about 500 grams of shabu worth PHP3.4 million in Barangay East Timawa at around 7 p.m.

In a second buy-bust operation at 11:25 a.m., Police Station 1 operatives arrested another high-value individual named 'Inday Lyndy' and a street-level individual known as 'Mark,' seizing 275 grams of shabu worth PHP1.87 million in Barangay Muelle Loney.

Mayor Jerry Treñas commended the ICPO's efforts, stating that they prevented the spread of harmful substances and protected Ilonggo families from drug-related harm.

Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, director of Police Regional Office 6 (PRO6), highlighted the importance of interdiction task forces at ports and airports to curb illegal drug entry, emphasizing the need for demand-reduction programs and community-level anti-drug abuse councils.
