DTI orders closure of recreational venues, limits restaurant capacity

On Friday, March 19, the DTI ordered the temporary closure of recreational facilities like cinemas and limited restaurants to 50% capacity in GCQ areas until April 4.

This decision was made to address rising COVID-19 cases.

The IATF also suspended driving schools, gaming arcades, museums, cultural centers, and limited social events in Tourism-accredited establishments immediately.

Essential business gatherings were reduced to a maximum of 30% capacity while dine-in restaurants, coffee shops, and personal care services were capped at 50%.

The DTI advised the public to avoid crowded places and improve ventilation in establishments.
