Ces Drilon, Korina Sanchez among first ABS-CBN layoffs

Veteran broadcast journalists Ces Drilon and Korina Sanchez are among the first workers laid off by ABS-CBN following the non-renewal of its legislative franchise.

ABS-CBN announced on Wednesday that it will cut jobs effective August 31, though the exact number of retrenched employees has not been disclosed.

Drilon tweeted on Thursday that telling her fellow kapamilyas they would lose their jobs was one of the toughest days she had to face.

Sanchez shared on Instagram that the company called workers individually to inform them about being laid off, describing the situation as 'a bloodbath.'.
