Economists see PH growth at 6.1-6.5% this year

Philippine economist Chidu Narayanan from Standard Chartered Bank forecasts a 6.1% growth for 2021, with recovery to pre-pandemic levels expected by 2022.

Narayanan noted that government spending on infrastructure is crucial for economic recovery.

HSBC managing director Cheuk Wan Fan predicts a 6.5% growth in the Philippine economy this year, contingent upon effective pandemic control and domestic reopening.
