HPG tasked to secure cargo flow during ECQ

The Joint Task Force COVID-19 Shield has tasked the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) to ensure the unimpeded flow of cargo vehicles during Luzon's enhanced community quarantine.

Lieutenant General Guillermo Eleazar, task force commander, stated that PNP-HPG will set up Dedicated Control Points (DCPs) on provincial boundaries and strategic locations where cargo vehicles typically travel.

These DCPs can be established at existing Quarantine Control Points (QCPs), which will then be converted to DCPs manned by HPG personnel.

Cargo vehicles, including trucks, vans, pick-ups, and jeepneys, will be exempt from being flagged down or checked at QCPs once the DCPs are operational.
