House elects new committee chairs Robes, Chua

On Tuesday, the House of Representatives elected new chairpersons for two committees, with Florida Robes becoming the chairperson of the Committee on Housing and Urban Development and Joel Chua taking over as chair of the Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability.

Robes replaced Jose Francisco Benitez, who was appointed by the President to lead TESDA, while Rosanna Ria Vergara from Nueva Ecija's 3rd district joined Robes as senior vice chairperson.

Representatives Johnny Pimentel, Romeo Acop, Edvic Yap, Rodante Marcoleta, Crispin Diego Remulla, and Roberto Uy Jr. were also elected as vice chairpersons for their respective panels.

The elections proceeded without any objections from the members of Congress.
