Bicol Loco Hot Air Balloon Festival features 17 hot air balloons, concerts, aerobatics

The first-ever Bicol Loco Hot Air Balloon Festival will take place from May 3 to 5 at the Old Legazpi Airport, featuring fantastical hot air balloon designs such as a six-story Spanish monastery, dogs, and a dinosaur.

Ako Bicol Party-List Rep. Elizaldy Co said that over 17 colorful hot air balloons would be flown by international pilots from various countries including England, Brazil, Sweden, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, China, and the United States.

The festival will offer free concerts featuring artists such as Sarah Geronimo, Bamboo, Ely Buendia, and Jericho Rosales, along with aerobatics, skydiving, kite-flying activities, fireworks, a drone show, car drifting, and an electric car versus airplane race.

To ensure safety, the Police Regional Office 5 (PRO-5) deployed over 1,500 uniformed personnel to secure the event and assist attendees.

Brig. Gen. Andre P. Dizon of PRO-5 confirmed that all systems are in place for security preparations, including crowd control, medical teams, and rapid response support.

Contingency plans have been prepared by PRO-5 for emergency situations during the festival.
