Hong Kong Eastern wins PBA quarterfinal spot, beats Terrafirma 134-110

Hong Kong Eastern secured a spot in the PBA Commissioner's Cup quarterfinals by defeating Terrafirma Dyip with a score of 134-110 on Friday at the Philsports Arena.

Despite playing their third straight game and losing import Chris McLaughlin to an injury, Hong Kong-based Eastern relied on Steven Guinchard’s 20-point performance to secure victory; Guinchard added five three-pointers and one four-pointer in the blowout win.

Eastern overcame an early deficit with a strong second half, extending their lead significantly in the fourth quarter by as many as 29 points before winning comfortably; Ramon Cao led Eastern's scoring efforts with 27 points and seven rebounds.

Coach Mensur Bajramovic attributed Eastern’s comeback to adjustments made during halftime but expressed concern over McLaughlin's injury, which could affect their upcoming games against Magnolia on January 26 and NLEX on January 29.

Terrafirma was paced by Brandon Edwards who scored 26 points, grabbed 17 rebounds, and dished out three assists; Eastern will now have to figure out if McLaughlin's injury requires a switch back to Cameron Clark for the remainder of their elimination round games.
