Hidilyn Diaz secures silver at National Weightlifting Championships

Olympic gold medalist Hidilyn Diaz-Naranjo returned to competition at the National Weightlifting Championships in Dumaguete.

Diaz-Naranjo secured a silver medal with a total lift of 202 kilograms, finishing behind Elreen Ando who won the gold with a total lift of 220 kilograms.

Despite her recent return to training and a long absence from competition, Diaz-Naranjo demonstrated strong form in both the snatch (87kg) and clean and jerk (115kg).

Elreen Ando claimed the gold medal with lifts totaling 95kg in the snatch and 125kg in the clean and jerk.

Diaz-Naranjo, who announced her intention to compete in her last Olympic Games, emphasized that family considerations will influence her future decisions.
