Light traffic on NLEX, SLEX during Holy Week

Motorists experienced heavy traffic on the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) early in Holy Week but conditions improved by Wednesday evening as many began their exodus to the provinces.

However, on Maundy Thursday, light traffic was observed at NLEX toll plazas and South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) toll plazas as Filipinos continued traveling for the Holy Week.

According to NLEX Corporation, traffic remained light in several areas but a 400-meter buildup was seen near the Mindanao Exit on NLEX.

Meanwhile, SLEX reported that traffic at the Sipit Bridge returned to light after earlier congestion and observed a 300-meter buildup in the northbound lane of the Greenfield area.

NLEX also opened zipper lanes from Holy Wednesday afternoon until Maundy Thursday to address any potential traffic buildups.
