Harnaaz Sandhu crowned Miss Universe 2021

Harnaaz Sandhu of India was crowned Miss Universe 2021 on Monday, December 13.

Sandhu bested 79 other contestants to become India's third Miss Universe winner after a gap of 21 years since Lara Dutta won in 2000.

The Bollywood actress and model impressed judges with her confidence during the final round of questions.

She is pursuing a master’s degree in public administration and has starred in Punjabi shows such as 'Yaara Diyan Poo Baran' and 'Bai Ji Kutangge'.

Miss Universe 1994 Sushmita Sen congratulated Sandhu on Instagram, praising her for representing India beautifully.

The pageant was held in Eilat, Israel despite calls for a boycott due to the ongoing situation in Palestine.
