Flooding from Typhoon Carina-Habagat displaces families in Manila, Cavite, Batangas

Severe flooding caused by Typhoon Carina-enhanced Habagat affected parts of Luzon on Tuesday, July 23, forcing evacuations in some areas.

In Isla Puting Bato, Tondo, Manila, almost 30 shanties were swept away and around 100 families were displaced due to strong waves and flooding.

Some motorists faced heavy traffic and stranded vehicles in Parañaque when parts of Sucat Road became flooded early Tuesday morning.

Flood alerts were raised in several Cavite towns including Bacoor, Kawit, General Trias, and Imus, with knee-deep water reported in Barangay Bagbag.

In Batangas City, flooding was exacerbated by clogged drainage systems, affecting traffic on DJPMM Access Road and parts of Poblacion.
