Gurīn Energy completes 75 MW Palauig Solar Project in Zambales

Singapore-based Gurīn Energy has completed its first operational green project in Zambales province with a 75-megawatt (MW) Palauig Solar Power Project that began commercial operations on Wednesday, Feb. 19.

The solar plant spans 80 hectares and features 136,363 solar photovoltaic panels, expected to offset 53,100 metric tons of carbon emissions annually.

Gurīn Energy signed a deal with Aboitiz Power Corporation for the energy produced by this project, ensuring reliable clean energy supply to commercial and industrial customers.

The company's chief operating officer Bob Driscoll highlighted the ongoing support from local communities and partners like UnionBank of the Philippines in achieving this milestone.

Gurin Energy also launched a solar education program for public school students to inspire future careers in clean energy, aiming to help reach 35% renewable energy share by 2030.
