GSIS sets PHP315M for Mindoro oil spill victims

The GSIS announced on Wednesday that it has set aside PHP315 million in emergency loans for its members and pensioners affected by the oil spill in Oriental Mindoro, heeding President Marcos's call to extend government assistance.

Nearly 13,000 GSIS members working or residing in the affected areas, as well as 1,896 pensioners, will be eligible for these loans once the required documents are received from the provincial government.

The emergency loan program aims to alleviate the plight of those in municipalities declared under a state of calamity.
