GSIS extends P10B in loans to members amid COVID-19

President Duterte reported to Congress that the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) has provided P3.8 billion in emergency loans to its members and pensioners amid the COVID-19 crisis.

As of May 20, a total of 220,533 active GSIS members and pensioners received these emergency loans.

Additionally, GSIS released P1.32 billion to 47,223 members and pensioners through its Wireless Automated Processing System kiosks.

Meanwhile, the GSIS reported that loan assistance extended to government employees and retirees breached the P10-billion mark as of mid-May, with over 200,000 individuals availing loans totaling P10.12 billion.
