Govt encourages office return to boost spending

The government is encouraging workers to return to the office as Metro Manila and 38 other areas shift to Alert Level 1 from March 1 to 15, in an effort to stimulate spending and support the economy.

DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez stated that while physical presence at work is encouraged, work-from-home arrangements will remain optional.

Lopez noted that with more people going out, businesses such as restaurants and stores are expected to benefit.
