WHO recommends shorter quarantine for fully-vaccinated individuals

The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends reducing the quarantine period for fully vaccinated individuals due to their lower viral load and reduced likelihood of transmission.

Dr Rabindra Abeyasinghe, WHO's representative in the Philippines, noted that immunity from full vaccination or recent infection within six months should allow for shorter quarantine periods.

The government has also eased protocols for fully vaccinated people, shortening their quarantine period to seven days if they remain asymptomatic after exposure to probable or confirmed cases.
