Gov't builds P495M SCTEX-Hermosa interchange

The government is collaborating with NLEX Corp., the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), and the local government of Hermosa to build an interchange connecting Hermosa, Bataan, to the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway (SCTEX) as part of President Marcos Jr.'s 'Build, Better, More' infrastructure program.

This project aims to enhance regional connectivity and support economic development in Central Luzon by linking emerging industrial zones in Bataan with other growth corridors like Clark Freeport Zone and New Clark City.

BCDA President Joshua Bingcang emphasized that the interchange will create new economic opportunities for the region's logistics and manufacturing sectors, generating jobs for Filipinos.

The proposed budget of P495.347 million includes right-of-way expenses and supports the Luzon Economic Corridor initiative by driving industrial growth in Central Luzon.

SCTEX traverses the outskirts of Hermosa but remains unconnected to the toll road; the interchange will improve access to the Bataan Technology Park in Morong, which is expected to become the future home of the Philippine Marine Corps.
