DAR relieves PHP146.5M debt for agrarian reform beneficiaries

A total of 1,483 agrarian reform beneficiaries in Bataan, Bulacan, and Aurora were relieved from PHP57.796 million in debts on Sunday, while an additional 3,296 beneficiaries across four provinces in the Bicol Region received debt relief worth PHP88.8 million on Tuesday.

During ceremonies at the Victory Coliseum in San Rafael, Bulacan, and the Legazpi City Convention Center, the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) distributed Certificates of Condonation with Release of Mortgage (CoCRoMs) to beneficiaries, covering a total of 719.607 hectares in Bataan, Bulacan, and Aurora, and around 5,397.37 hectares in the Bicol Region.

One beneficiary from Bacon, Sorsogon, expressed gratitude towards President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., whose PHP261,558 debt for a land was condoned under Republic Act No. 11953, the New Agrarian Emancipation Act (NAEA), signed into law by President Marcos in July 2023.

The government also distributed 57 Certificates of Land Ownership Award covering 40 hectares and 128 electronic titles under the Support to Parcelization of Lands for Individual Titling project in Bulacan, alongside additional land titles for beneficiaries in Bicol.
