Gov launches 'Kadiwa ng Bagong Bayaning Mangingisda' program near Bajo De Masinloc

The Philippine government has launched the 'Kadiwa ng Bagong Bayaning Mangingisda' (KBBM) program near Bajo De Masinloc to enhance food security and stability in the region.

Undersecretary Atty. Claire Castro, Palace Press Officer, stated that the deployment of a government fish carrier enables direct purchase of fresh catch from Filipino fishermen at sea.

The initiative also provides fuel and ice subsidies to assist local fishermen facing transportation challenges and other expenses.

President Ferdinand 'Bongbong' Marcos Jr.'s instruction aims to ensure food security and maritime development in the West Philippine Sea.

According to Commodore Jay Tarriela of the Philippine Coast Guard, 120 fishermen and 11 fishing vessels have already benefited from this program.

The KBBM program also serves to strengthen the presence of Philippine forces in the resource-rich region.
