Gerald Santos testifies about 2005 rape, GMA responds

Former talent Gerald Santos testified before the Senate Committee on Public Information about being raped by a former musical director at GMA Network in 2005. In response to this testimony, GMA released a statement affirming their strict policy against sexual harassment and clarifying that they took immediate action upon receiving a formal complaint from Santos in 2010.

GMA terminated the contract of the accused individual following an investigation and has never covered up incidents of sexual harassment.

However, GMA highlighted that the nature of the complaint filed by Gerald Santos differs from his recent rape accusation during Senate hearings. The network also pointed out that Santos requested to be released early from his management contract in 2010 and later appeared on other TV networks.

GMA emphasized their commitment against all forms of abuse, stating they did not condone any form of harassment towards artists, personalities, employees, independent contractors, or stakeholders.
