Globe, GoTyme sign data-sharing pact to combat cyber fraud

Globe Telecom and GoTyme Bank have signed a data-sharing agreement aimed at preventing digital scams and financial cybercrimes.

Under the agreement, Globe can share information about potentially fraudulent mobile numbers with GoTyme, including names, addresses, and contact details, without needing legal warrants or subpoenas.

This collaboration streamlines fraud identification processes compared to traditional legal procedures that typically take months.

GoTyme's chief information security officer Albert Dela Cruz emphasized that the agreement enhances cybersecurity measures to protect customers from cyber criminals.

Globe Telecom stated that this partnership reflects its ongoing commitment to championing cybersecurity and protecting customers from digital threats, aligning with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and National Privacy Commission's call for collaboration among financial institutions and telecom providers.
