Gilas Women lose to Japan, end Jones Cup with 1-4 record

Gilas Women concluded their William Jones Cup campaign on Wednesday with a 95-88 loss to Japan's Chanson V-Magic.

Kimika Takanohashi led Japan with 32 points and eight three-pointers, helping them overcome a fourth-quarter deficit.

Janine Pontejos scored 20 points for Gilas Women, but it wasn't enough as the team finished with just one win in five games.

Jack Animam added a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds for Gilas Women.

Gilas Women will now focus on the upcoming Asian Games in China.
