Gilas Pilipinas Women's 3x3 ranks 14th globally after FIBA win

This week, Gilas Pilipinas Women's 3x3 squad achieved significant success, propelling the Philippines to a new ranking of 14th in the FIBA women's 3x3 world rankings.

The team won four out of six stops at the FIBA 3x3 Youth Nations League Asia-Pacific 1 in Doha, Qatar, securing qualification for the upcoming FIBA U23 World Cup in China from September 17 to 21.

Gilas Pilipinas Women's victory and accumulated points placed them as the fourth-best team in Asia behind Japan, Mongolia, and China with a total of 530 points, 50 ahead of second-ranked New Zealand.

The Philippines' climb up the rankings marks their highest rank ever in FIBA 3x3, supported by organizations such as SBP, SGA, Uratex Dream, Smart, and MVPSF.

National team coach Anton Altamirano expressed pride in the achievements of his players who secured a coveted slot to compete against the best teams in the world.

Despite these accomplishments, the Netherlands remained at the top of the world rankings for women's 3x3 teams.
