Abarrientos, Cu join Gilas training camp; Brownlee, Rosario out

RJ Abarrientos and Ralph Cu from Barangay Ginebra San Miguel have been invited to join Gilas Pilipinas' training camp at Insports Sports Academy, replacing injured players Justin Brownlee and Troy Rosario.

Brownlee is dealing with blisters while Rosario is taking a rest period; both will not participate in the upcoming Doha trip from February 13 to 16.

Players like AJ Edu, Dwight Ramos, Scottie Thompson, Calvin Oftana, CJ Perez, June Mar Fajardo, Jamie Malonzo, and Japeth Aguilar have also joined training sessions.

KBL import Carl Tamayo and Meralco guard Chris Newsome will join the team directly from Korea and Taiwan for the Qatar friendlies, while Kevin Quiambao remains with Goyang Sono Skygunners.

Gilas will face Doha, Lebanon, and Egypt in Qatar before returning to the Philippines on February 17, then heading to Taipei on February 20.
