Gilas Girls promoted to FIBA U16 Division A

The Gilas Pilipinas Girls returned to the country on July 18 after securing promotion to Division A of the FIBA Under-16 Women's Asian Championship in Amman, Jordan.

Gilas dominated their competition with an average winning margin of 53.4 points and a clean sweep of all five matches, including an 83-60 victory over Iran in the final.

The team was led by Ava Fajardo (16.2 points, 5.4 assists per game), Nevaeh Smith (13.2 points per game), and Ariel Star De La O (8.6 points, 10 rebounds per game).

Coach Patrick Aquino praised the program's progress, noting that Gilas will now compete against regional powerhouses like China and Japan in Division A.
