GCash implements daily transaction limit to curb vote-buying until May 12

GCash has implemented a temporary daily transaction limit on 'Express Send' and 'Send via QR' services to prevent vote-buying during the 2025 midterm elections.

The restriction will be in place until May 12, 2025, with normal transactions resuming the next day.

GCash emphasized that these measures aim to ensure fair and safe elections by preventing financial influence on voters' decisions.

The Commission on Elections has praised GCash for its proactive measure, commending it for curbing vote-buying through daily transfer limits.

Comelec Chairperson George Garcia and Committee on Kontra Bigay Commissioner-in-Charge Ernesto Maceda Jr. signed a letter dated March 12 praising GCash's efforts to maintain the integrity of the elections.
