Gatchalian: Nat'l ID system could help in future pandemics

Senator Sherwin Gatchalian called for the immediate implementation of the National ID System to combat future pandemics.

Gatchalian noted that countries like Taiwan and Singapore used their national IDs to trace citizens' travel history, which helped in early detection and contact tracing during the COVID-19 crisis.

The senator emphasized that the Philippines should learn from these examples and implement its own national ID system to be better prepared for future pandemics.
