Fuel prices up again; gasoline by P1.10

Fuel prices will increase for the sixth consecutive week for gasoline and seventh for diesel and kerosene starting Tuesday, August 22.

Leading oil firms such as Shell, Seaoil, Caltex, Unioil, PetroGazz, and Cleanfuel plan to raise prices by P1.10 per liter for gasoline, P0.20 per liter for diesel, and P0.70 per liter for kerosene.

Since July 10, diesel has increased by P12.50 per liter, gasoline by P8.85 per liter, and kerosene by P11.85 per liter.

Unioil had previously projected a smaller increase of P0.80 to P1.00 for gasoline and P0.10 to P0.20 for diesel, but the actual adjustments are higher.

The price hikes are attributed to economic factors such as China's slowdown, US inflation concerns, and stronger dollar.
