FPJ Panday Rep Poe backs VP Sara's impeachment

FPJ Panday Bayanihan party-list Rep. Brian Poe Llamanzares has reaffirmed his support for a resolution that would continue the House of Representatives' pursuit of Vice President Sara Duterte's impeachment case.

In an interview, Poe stated he will follow in the footsteps of his mother, former Sen. Grace Poe, who voted to proceed with the trial during the 19th Congress.

Poe emphasized the importance of transparency and democracy within government while expressing disappointment that evidence cannot be shown without a proper venue.

Two reelected congressmen, Francisco Paolo Ortega V and Jefferson Khonghun, have also expressed their commitment to standing by their decision to sign the impeachment complaint against Duterte.

The Senate Impeachment Court has stated it will not reconvene unless the House prosecution complies with two orders issued in June.

Lawmakers noted that compliance to the second requirement might be seen as a violation of the Constitutional ban on initiating more than one impeachment complaint against the same official within a year.
