Flash flood in Tanay kills 2, leaves 1 missing

A flash flood in Tanay town, Rizal province during Supertyphoon Karding on Sunday night, Sept. 25, resulted in two deaths and one missing person.

Arthur Panes, 65, drowned while crossing the Lanatin river with his family members; Aika Laurel, 2, was rescued alive but Carlo Laurel, her father, could not be found initially.

On Tuesday, Aimy Panes, Carlo's live-in partner, was discovered dead in the Pacific Ocean off Polillo island in Quezon province.

Carlo Laurel’s body was later recovered on Thursday morning floating at Daraitan Lake in Barangay Daraitan.
