First Lady Marcos leads charitimba aid distribution for Crising victims

First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos led the distribution of 'charitimba' food packs from the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office to families affected by Tropical Storm Crising and heavy monsoon rains in Metro Manila on Tuesday.

During the event, she quoted her husband, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., who is currently returning from a three-day visit to the USA.

The aid distribution was coordinated with the Philippine National Police, with Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III also present at the event.

Each charitimba pack includes ready-to-eat meals, canned goods, three kilograms of rice, and other essentials.

Manila was among the areas hit by the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat, causing floods and forcing the evacuation of some residents.

Separately, 650 packs were distributed in Barangay Sta. Lucia to evacuees temporarily sheltered due to flooding.
