Filmmakers thank Marcos admin for supporting Philippine film industry

Filmmakers and artists expressed gratitude towards President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s administration for its support of the Philippine film industry during the Konsyerto sa Palasyo event on Sunday evening in Malacañang.

Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) chairperson Jose Javier Reyes emphasized that this administration actively supports the film industry, unlike previous ones which only gave lip service.

Veteran actress Lorna Tolentino echoed Reyes' sentiments and expressed hope for continued support, particularly during events like the Metro Manila Film Festival.

Gladys Reyes noted that government assistance has been a tremendous boost to the film industry, underscoring its importance in reviving public interest in Filipino films.

Among those present at the event were GMA Network Senior Vice President Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes and Ruru Madrid, who is set to star in a Metro Manila Film Festival entry titled 'Green Bones'.
